Hello!
It's day 6 on the Great Escape Tour for Modern Gentlemen and I have finally had a chance to sit at the laptop and share a little of what we have been up to the last few days!
Day One - 08/21
We met up with MC Pigpen, Pat Maine, Dusk One and Derill Pounds and rocked sets in our hometown of Superior WI at Norm's. It was good to see all those fuckers again, and the show was fun. Nothing unusual (for Superior, that is..) to report here....
Day Two - 08/22
We headed to Minneapolis and rocked sets at Honey at Gingerhop! Nice Venue! We were joined by our homies C-Silence and Nobuddie for the show! We got to see some people we hadnt seen in a while and have a few drinks, so it was a good time! Thanks to Nobuddie for setting up the show and extra special thanks to Nick and Matt for putting us up the whole time we were in town!
Day Three - 08/23
Day off! We hung out in Minneapolis and got drunk at Nick and Matt's that evening. Good times.
Day Four - 08/24
We picked up Pat Maine and recorded a posse cut with him and Daniel Heavens during the day. We will post that online sometime soon! We played a house party that night, which was pretty sweet! We were played sets along with Daniel Heavens and Moonlight Grammer, who we strongly suggest you check out online! I don't know his page, so google that shit! On the way home from the party Matt came pretty close to vomiting in our van. Luckily he got it all on himself and in a Burger King bag.
Day Five - 08/25
Headed to Milwaukee were our friends in Family Power Music host Grassroots Wednesdays at the Miramar Theater! The show was fun, met some new people. Dusk One, Pat Maine and myself slept in some attic with dog shit on the floors. Touring is all about creating memories like that one. I think I just have to sleep in a dumpster and I will have paid all my dues.....
Day Six - 08/26
We are at The House Cafe in Dekalb, IL were we will be playing later tonight. Nice city, reminds me of Stillwater MN a little. We will have to update you on how the show went and if I slept in a dumpster on the next blog....
Nothing too crazy in this blog, but we just wanted to give you an update of how things are going! For those of you in the Twin Ports, our debut album "A Gentleman's Guide to Dangerous Living" is available at the Electric Fetus in Duluth, MN!!!
I leave you with this quote:
"I feel sad for these people... they have no peace of mind"
-Bliss, after hearing a song by Wacka Floka Flame, Guccie Mane, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy.
Peace,
MC1980
