The Great Escape Tour Blog #5
Well hello you sexy motherfucker, you're looking good today!!!
Since the last blog, we had spent some more time in NYC, which was quite the experience! We played at the Bowery Poetry club with our homie Kosha Dillz and some of his homies like Kyle Rapps and Ben Grimm! Good times! We played in New Brunswick NJ, at the Court Tavern, which was a stop on one of Nirvana's early tours and was once owned by Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth! We rocked with Kosha again and some other dope emcee's like Roebus One, Ray Stryfe and Universal! We also played at the Rhino Bar in Newport Rhode Island, again with Kosha Dillz and other rappers like Dirty Derdy. We had excellent crowds at all three shows and met lots of cool people!
We also spent more time in NYC at the events thrown by We Are Change (http://www.wearechange.org/) and spent time at Ground Zero on 9/11. We got to hear speeches from and have conversations with people like Cynthia McKinney and lots of other Presidential Candidates, Activists, Film Makers and other wonderful people! I suggest you keep an eye on the WAC site, or You Tube for videos from these events!
It was a pretty overwhelming experience for my first time in NYC and I will definitely never forget it!
Special Thanks to Nathan of the RI We Are Change Chapter and his roomate Keith, for letting us crash at their place for a few days!!!
We are currently kicking back in Rhode Island, and tomorrow we head to Worchester MA for a show at the Lucky Dog Music Hall! Sunday we play at Napples Bullpen in WV and then we have a show at OB's Brau Haus in Appleton WI on 09/24 before our big home coming show at 624 Live in Superior WI on 09/25!!!!!
As the tour starts to wind down we want to send a special thank you out to everyone who has been involved in making this happen and who has helped us out in any way, shape or form! Special shout out to our tour mates MC Pigpen, Pat Maine, Dusk One and DJ Street Jesus!!!! Great Escape Ma' Fuckas!!!!!!
We hope to have tour videos on You Tube ASAP, I just gotta edit the footage down......

"The Great Escape" Tour Blog #4
Hello!
We made it to NYC yesterday! It is my first time here and it has been quite the experience! We walked around for a while just to check things out, it was pretty crazy! We went to Ground Zero and in the evening attended day one of an event thrown by We Are Change ( http:///www.wearechange.org ) called "Our Lives Post 9/11
During the evening while I was checking the score of the Vikings game in the van someone blatantly pissed on the sidewalk a few feet away from me. I guess that's how people roll around here. It's not like there are public bathrooms all over, so I kinda get it. I suppose lots of people shit their pants in this city. Or wear diapers. Probably both.....
Thanks to Matt Lepacek for putting us up for the next few days! Much appreciated!
We are going to Jersey later tonight for another event, should be fun!
There is an article in the Duluth News Tribune about us written by Matthew Perrine, you can view it online at this link

The Great Escape Tour Blog #3
Hello!
We are half way through our participation on "The Great Escape Tour" and I have to say we have been having a wonderful time! It's nice to hit the road with dope rappers, who are also straight up cool people and play shows in new areas and meet new people as well!!!! We can't complain!!!
I want to send a special shout out to the people who have put us up for a night or two..or three! Special thanks to Nick and Matt in Minneapolis, Chelsea and April in Milwaukee, Kim, Stef and Laura in Michigan and Tony in Buffalo, NY!!! We greatly appreciate all the hospitality!!!
The last few shows have been great! We played at a Hookah Bar in Mt. Pleasant, a bar in Melvinville/Detroit and a bar in Rochester! We met some nice people and had a hell of a time!!!!
Bliss and I have been spending most of our off time in Border book stores, or just relaxing wherever we can to stay out of trouble. I think Bliss killed a guy with a trident in Mt. Pleasant though, but don't tell anyone I said that......
We have been chillin in upstate NY and tomorrow we head to NYC! It is my first time there, so I'm pretty excited! We are attending a 3 day event called "Our Lives Post 9/11" which I am very excited for! Bliss will be doing a solo performance later in the evening at the event tomorrow, and I will be backing him up on the mic!
For a full list of upcoming shows check out http://www.myspace.com/moderngentlemenhiphop and for you Twin Ports cats, we have a "Homecoming" show booked Saturday Sept 25th at 624 Live in Superior!!! Check out the link above for full details!!!

Shit... it's been a few days, let's get you caught up!
Day Seven - 08/27 After the show in Dekalb, which was wicked fun, we headed to Northwood Iowa. We played at a place called Bar Games, which was a cool venue, there just wasnt much of a crowd. None the less we still kicked the flavor! I hear there are more cows in Iowa than people. That is probably true.
Day Eight - 08/28 After the show in Iowa we headed right to Racine WI and caught some sleep in the van. We were booked to play Nickapalooza and it was an outdoor festival in a park, so we had to be there early. Pigpen, Pat and Dusk played at 2:30 and we played at 5:30pm, so we didnt have time to waste in Iowa. This even was Awesome! There were lots of great music acts, food and cool people. To top it off the weather was amazing! It was one of my favorite shows on the tour so far, for sure!
Day Nine - 08/29 Day off! Pig, Pat, Dusk and Street Jesus headed to Chicago while we went back to Milwaukee. It was a pretty gangster day for us, we spent a few hours in a book store, then a few hours at Lake Michigan then headed over to a friends house to get some sleep on the floor. Also Bliss shot a few people.
Day Ten - 08/30 Day off! Headed to Michigan where we have a friend in Ann Arbor who was nice enough to let us crash at her place for a few days. Ann Arbor is a nice city. It's a college town, they have some cool bars and a 24 hour arcade! We checked out the Blind Pig which was Kurt Cobain's favorite place to play before Nirvana got big. Awesome bar! They had $1 PBR's and needles to say I had a few of those.....
Day Eleven 08/31 Day off! Chilled in Ann Arbor. Did laundry, which is fun to do when you are on the road haha. Got a few other things done on line and took it easy. Tried to do some swimming but we got to the pool a bit late.
We have a few open mic's we are going to check out tonight, then we start up with the shows again tomorrow! We are hoping to get some videos from these last few shows up on you tube soon.
Peace!

I am sitting at the House Cafe in Dekelb Illinoise! I have been givin a free shcicken wrap a pickle and delicious chips alonh with a complementary miller light, and that is plent payment enough for me to rap tonight!
This is a great town, I went to the library earlie, went to a famers market and got 2 plums.. me and 1980 were also givin free cupcakes at the local historic theater.
I have determined that we need free cupcakes at our shows, along with a beautiful girl to promote the show outisde of the venue and sell stuff at the merch table...
So..... do we have any volunters? the requirements are:
you must be a,
Beautiful Girl
age 21-31
w/ sales skills
and you must be ok with living poor on the road, not being sure where you are going to sleep or wake up and occasionally sleeping in the van and maybe cuddeling... :)
if this sounds appealing, you will be able to:
travel to exoctic locations all over the universe
feel like a celebrity
have fun and be free from your boring life
if you want to audition for the part you can email me your picture and resume or call me.. or contact me via facebook.
Thank you and have a great day

The Great Escape Tour Blog #1
Hello!
It's day 6 on the Great Escape Tour for Modern Gentlemen and I have finally had a chance to sit at the laptop and share a little of what we have been up to the last few days!
Day One - 08/21
We met up with MC Pigpen, Pat Maine, Dusk One and Derill Pounds and rocked sets in our hometown of Superior WI at Norm's. It was good to see all those fuckers again, and the show was fun. Nothing unusual (for Superior, that is..) to report here....
Day Two - 08/22
We headed to Minneapolis and rocked sets at Honey at Gingerhop! Nice Venue! We were joined by our homies C-Silence and Nobuddie for the show! We got to see some people we hadnt seen in a while and have a few drinks, so it was a good time! Thanks to Nobuddie for setting up the show and extra special thanks to Nick and Matt for putting us up the whole time we were in town!
Day Three - 08/23
Day off! We hung out in Minneapolis and got drunk at Nick and Matt's that evening. Good times.
Day Four - 08/24
We picked up Pat Maine and recorded a posse cut with him and Daniel Heavens during the day. We will post that online sometime soon! We played a house party that night, which was pretty sweet! We were played sets along with Daniel Heavens and Moonlight Grammer, who we strongly suggest you check out online! I don't know his page, so google that shit! On the way home from the party Matt came pretty close to vomiting in our van. Luckily he got it all on himself and in a Burger King bag.
Day Five - 08/25
Headed to Milwaukee were our friends in Family Power Music host Grassroots Wednesdays at the Miramar Theater! The show was fun, met some new people. Dusk One, Pat Maine and myself slept in some attic with dog shit on the floors. Touring is all about creating memories like that one. I think I just have to sleep in a dumpster and I will have paid all my dues.....
Day Six - 08/26
We are at The House Cafe in Dekalb, IL were we will be playing later tonight. Nice city, reminds me of Stillwater MN a little. We will have to update you on how the show went and if I slept in a dumpster on the next blog....
Nothing too crazy in this blog, but we just wanted to give you an update of how things are going! For those of you in the Twin Ports, our debut album "A Gentleman's Guide to Dangerous Living" is available at the Electric Fetus in Duluth, MN!!!
I leave you with this quote:
"I feel sad for these people... they have no peace of mind"
-Bliss, after hearing a song by Wacka Floka Flame, Guccie Mane, Rick Ross and Young Jeezy.

Preparing for Tour; Part One: The Great Underwear Fiasco
Preparing for tour can be a stressful process. There's lots of things you have to get done before you hit the road, both in a personal and business manner. Making sure your merchandise and promo materials are in order, taking care of bills and tying up random loose ends can keep you busy for a weeks before you hit the road. The most important thing though, is making sure you have the right underwear packed for the trip.....
I own exactly 17 pairs of boxer briefs and 4 pair of boxers. It is imperative that I bring only my A-Squad on the road with me. I don't have room for all 21 pair of underwear, so only the best pairs are to be put in the suitcase. I like to keep my underwear in near mint condition, but I don't have time to inspect the quality of my underwear on a daily basis, so some of them could only be graded "Good" at best. Talk about stressing yourself out before tour. I need almost a whole evening to try them all on, inspect them and grade them on different levels. Who has time for this? But it is important, so I make time. I could show you all the charts and graphs that I made during this process, but I don't have time to scan underwear charts on to the internet all day long. Just use your imagination.
Now that the whole "Great Underwear Fiasco" is over I have time to focus on picking out soaps and lotions and all that other shit my body needs to stay fresh. After all of that I may actually have time to practice one or two of the songs that we are going to perform on tour.
Speaking of songs, our debut album "A Gentleman's Guide to Dangerous Living" is out on 08/21. You can preview some tracks at http://www.myspace.com/moderngentlemenhiphop
Keep checking back on this page for updates from the road, and more announcements regarding our "rap music."
